Our receiving docks can accommodate any size truck or container. Whether you’re expecting a full tractor-trailer, a box truck, or a single pallet on a flatbed, we have the infrastructure to handle it.
There’s also a street-level dock for cars and light trucks, so smaller deliveries and package receiving don’t get stuck waiting for larger freight to clear. Flexibility matters when shipments don’t arrive on predictable schedules.
We accept freight whether it’s prepaid, third-party billing, or even freight collect. You shouldn’t have to coordinate payment terms with your carriers just to get your goods through our doors.
Freight Receiving With Thorough Inspection and Documentation
Every item is thoroughly inspected when received. We note any damage or quantity discrepancies clearly on the bill of lading so there’s a paper trail from day one. If something arrives broken, short, or different than expected, you’ll know immediately, not when it shows up at your client’s home.
Original packing and crating are saved for reuse when practical. Why pay twice for materials that can protect your goods through multiple moves?
Activity on the docks and in the warehouse is recorded with CCTV to ensure an accurate record of all inventory entering and leaving the premises. Accountability isn’t optional in commercial receiving services.
Inventory Management and Protection After Receiving
After inspection, each item is entered into our inventory management system, and barcodes are applied to each piece for tracking purposes. You can locate specific items instantly instead of digging through handwritten logs or memory.
Items are blanket wrapped, slipcovered, packed, or crated for protection as necessary. A glass tabletop gets different treatment than a sofa. A framed piece of art gets different handling than dining chairs. We match the protection to the item.
Inventory is then moved into the appropriate storage area where it’s stored on racks, vaulted, placed in a private room, or kept in climate-controlled storage depending on what the item requires. Delicate finishes, sensitive materials, and high-value pieces get the environment they need to stay pristine.
After the warehouse crew stows the inventory, the location is updated in the inventory system. Every piece has a home, and that home is documented.
Transparent Communication and Flexible Billing
All clients are notified when goods are received, and copies of our receiving reports and all shipping documentation are provided. You’re never left wondering if your shipment arrived or what condition it’s in.
Receiving fees can be billed immediately or held until the inventory is removed from the warehouse, then added to the delivery order. Billing flexibility gives you control over cash flow instead of forcing you into a rigid payment structure.
